Greenville, N.C. – The Greenville Yard Gnomes and Holly Springs Salamanders battled to a 5-5 tie before the game was suspended after seven innings due to inclement weather. The contest will resume and be completed on July 11th.

Holly Springs jumped out to an early 2-0 lead, plating a run in each of the first two innings. The Gnomes responded in the bottom of the second when Fuller Morrish ripped a double to bring home Joe Whitaker and Will Applegate, tying the game 2-2.

The scoring continued in the fourth as Danny Stephens crossed the plate for the Salamanders following a Greenville catching error. The Yard Gnomes answered right back, with David Lillis scoring on a miscue by the Salamanders catcher to even the score at three apiece.

In the top of the seventh, Anthony Hauser delivered a clutch single that drove in Jake Stanley and Hudson Ellis, giving Holly Springs a brief 5-3 lead. But Greenville responded in the bottom half of the inning as both Whitaker and Applegate scored on wild pitcher from Salamanders pitcher Dalton Hazlett.
