Greenville, N.C. – The Greenville Yard Gnomes extended their winning streak to four games Wednesday night, defeating the Holly Springs Salamanders 6-3 at Guy Smith Stadium. Brody Gardner and Jon Howard powered the offense with two RBIs apiece in a decisive fifth inning.

Holly Springs (13-15) opened the scoring in the top of the first when Rom Kellis crossed the plate on a bases-loaded passed ball.

Moments later, Howard followed with a two-run single, plating Corey Berry and Gardner. An errant throw by the catcher allowed Howard to come around and score. Watson capped the big inning with an RBI single in his Yard Gnomes debut, driving in David Lillis.

The Salamanders chipped away with two runs in the seventh. Parker McCoy lined an RBI single to right, followed by a sacrifice fly from Anthony Mitta to trim the deficit to 6-3.
