GREENVILLE, N.C. — The Guy Smith Stadium lights will shine for the first time this season when the Greenville Yard Gnomes host the Tri-City Chili Peppers in their home opener Saturday, May 23. First pitch is scheduled for 6:30 p.m.

Gates will open one hour before first pitch. Fans are reminded that outside food and beverages are not permitted inside the stadium. Small clutches and medical bags will be allowed but are subject to search upon entry.

Manager Jack Schaffer returns for his third season leading the Yard Gnomes. The 2026 roster features a mix of returning players and new talent as Greenville prepares for another summer of Coastal Plain League baseball.

The Yard Gnomes compete in the Coastal Plain League, one of the nation’s premier collegiate summer baseball leagues. Entering the 2024 summer season, more than 1,750 CPL alumni have been drafted by Major League Baseball organizations, with 200 players reaching the majors. Notable alumni include Justin Verlander, Ryan Zimmerman, Mark Reynolds, Kevin Youkilis, Alec Bohm, and Super Bowl XLVIII–winning quarterback Russell Wilson.
