GREENVILLE, N.C. — Each summer, Yard Gnomes players come to Greenville from across the country to compete and continue their baseball careers. While they spend their days at the ballpark, they rely on local host families to provide a comfortable, supportive place to call home during the season.
We are currently looking for host families for the 2026 season and invite you to consider being part of this important program.
Why become a host family?
Make a real impact: Host families play an important role in helping players stay focused and comfortable throughout the season by providing a positive home environment.
Build meaningful relationships: Many host families stay in touch with their players long after the season ends, creating connections that extend well beyond baseball.
Host family perks: Host families receive benefits such as ticket opportunities, invitations to team events, and unique access to the organization.
Support the local team: This is a great way to directly support Yard Gnomes baseball and contribute to the success of the players and the organization.
What we look for in host families:
- A safe, welcoming home environment
• Reliability and good communication with team staff
• Flexibility with players’ game and practice schedules
• A spare bedroom or suitable living arrangement - A passion for baseball is great, but not required.
Families interested in hosting a Gnome should call General Manager John McCormick at 925-628-1052 or email [email protected] for more information. The host family handbook and more information can be found on our website, click here.
